Lumen imagines public spaces where low-level ambient light is grown rather than wired. It is aimed at paths, waterfronts, facades, and places that need presence more than brightness.

Engineered bioluminescent cultures could live inside sealed, serviceable modules integrated into railings, bollards, and paving. Safety, biological containment, useful luminance, and lifecycle cost decide whether the idea survives contact with a city.
