Cinder is a concept for shortening the distance between ignition and a useful alert. It combines inexpensive ground sensors with remote imagery so responders can investigate a small signal before it becomes a visible plume.
A distributed network could look for heat and combustion signatures, then cross-check them against cameras and satellite feeds. The venture case depends on false-alarm control, resilient communications, coverage economics, and integration with real dispatch systems.
